The Boerne Independent School District has named Lizeth Thompson as the first-ever Principal of Viola Wilson Elementary School. Mrs. Thompson has served as an educator for over 20 years, including the last seven years at Lake Travis Elementary, where she first served as Assistant Principal (2017-2022), and most recently as Principal. Boerne ISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price stated, ‘“We are thrilled to have such an experienced leader like Lizeth lead Viola Wilson Elementary. Having taught at BISD before, she is well aware of our unique culture, as well as our wonderful community. Her decades of experience teaching bilingual and dual language students are a perfect fit for our newest emerging bilingual campus.” Her entire teaching experience has been in a bilingual/dual-language classroom. Mrs. Thompson began her career at Northside ISD where she taught 2nd and 3rd grade. She then moved to Boerne ISD where she taught Kindergarten, 3rd and 4th grade. In addition, she was also a Dual Language teacher in Northeast ISD and was an Administrative Intern during her time there. Mrs. Thompson received her Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary’s University and her Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Currently, she is a doctoral student at the University of Texas at Austin.
